Studying in the Master's program at Petra Christian University (UK Petra), we are often engaged in discussions with people from various backgrounds, such as industry and academia. Participants face the same problem, yet widely different opinions emerge from these discussions. Several times, I found myself thinking, "Why does this person think this way when looking at this problem?".

This trained me to think more critically and ask deeper, more detailed, and more measurable questions. Solution ideas stem from a deep understanding of a problem, but how good an idea is cannot be easily evaluated. Communication is the next step—defending that idea in the face of feedback from others until they also come to believe in the idea we propose.

In the Master of Industrial Engineering Program at UK Petra, world-class lecturers encouraged me to actively engage in deep and structured discussions. After graduating, I feel I possess a more critical and grounded mindset and communication style when navigating real-world problems.

Simply Lovely!

Studying in the Master of Industrial Engineering program at Petra Christian University has given me a different perspective on solving problems in the industrial world. I learned not only about theories and analytical methods, but also how to transform real-world field problems into problems that can be analyzed systematically.

As the owner of Jaya Baru Poultry Farm, I realized that running a farm with a closed-house system requires not only an understanding of poultry management, but also the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Thank you very much, Mr. Didik Wahyudi, for your time, guidance, direction, and patience throughout my thesis preparation process. I gained a wealth of knowledge and valuable insights during the guidance sessions, especially in understanding how a problem can be analyzed and solved more systematically. Growth Has No Expiration Date

Pursuing a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Petra Christian University is a transformative journey that is both challenging and maturing. Amid dynamic professional responsibilities and family life, I learned that discipline and commitment are the essential keys to growth.

PCU not only provides academic insights, but also instills L.I.G.H.T. valuesLove, Integrity, Growth, Humility, and Truth)—which are highly relevant in integrating theory into practical solutions in the industry. The support from my family, lecturers, and the academic environment became my primary strength in completing this journey. I also extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. I Gede Widyadana, who patiently encouraged me to complete my thesis on time with... with sharp insight.

For me, this experience is proof that learning knows no age limit. As long as there is a willingness to step forward, every challenge becomes part of the growth toward a better version of oneself.

Balancing work and study at nearly 50 years old is admittedly full of challenges.
I am well aware that my brain isn't as quick as it used to be, so achieving success required pure diligence—studying hard, learning much more than my younger peers, and willingly sacrificing my weekends to study.
Today, I finally passed my Master’s Thesis defense in Industrial Engineering with an 'A' grade,
while successfully maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA for four consecutive semesters. Nothing about this achievement was easy, but it proves that it is far from impossible.
Age is never an obstacle to being the best among others.

My heartfelt thanks go to my advisor, Pak Didik Wahjudi for his incredible patience during this semester, even taking the time late into the night to guide me. Thank you, Sir, for your detailed checks and thorough revisions that helped make my thesis so much better.
