Industry 4.0 on Procurement - The challenges and opportunities of Blockchain technology
The ongoing discussion about "digital revolution" and "disruptive competitive advantages" have triggered business organizations to evolve toward "Industry 4.0". Although the concept of Industry 4.0 has emerged recently, the actual cases are still unclear. This presentation shows the potential of Industry 4.0 specifically for the procurement. In particular, discussion about the recent technology, called blockchain, is addressed to outline the best practices as well as the challenges and opportunities for any prospective industries.
Bernardo Nugroho Yahya is currently an Assistant Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, South Korea. He was joining Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (Korea) as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and involved in various business process intelligence projects with high tech industries including Samsung Electro-Mechanic and Busan International Port Terminal. He received his PhD degree in Industrial Engineering from Pusan National University, Busan, South Korea, where he was conducting research activities in the areas of business process management. His current research activities concern with the development of process intelligence either in manufacturing or service industry, behavior intelligence in smart home environment, and affective computing in smart ageing.
